SIG KADET SENIOR 1981mm WS 40/50 4C TRAINER

SIG KADET SENIOR 1981mm WS 40/50 4C TRAINER

Product Information

SIG KADET SENIOR 1981mm WS 40/50 4C TRAINER

The"Hands Off" Trainer

First attempts at R/C flying should be with an inherently stable model that flies slow enough to give the student pilot time to think and react. The Kadet Senior is the result of designer Claude McCullough's 50+years in the model airplane hobby.

Everything about the Kadet Senior has been designed to make it the easiest to fly trainer in the world. High-wing configuration, large tail surfaces, and generous dihedral for true "hands off" stability.

The Kadet Senior flies so slow and gentle that just about anyone can handle it on their very first try!
If the student pilot gets confused, simply let go of the control sticks and the Kadet Senior will recover itself and return back to level flight. Kadet Senior Model Airplane

Kadet Senior Model Airplane Flat-bottom airfoil, light weight construction, and a super light wing loading allow the Kadet Senior to cruise around at low speeds.

All-balsa design with a strength-to-weight advantage that ARF trainers can't approach.

SIG Kadet Senior - an excellent trainer and sport model
"Once upon a time, many years ago, I was trying to learn to fly RC models. My teacher liked fast models and he kept suggesting models which I kept crashing. Eventually the club president whispered in my ear - "Get a Kadet Senior". He was spot on. I built one and never looked back. The Kadet Senior is large but light. As a result, it will fly very slowly and will give the new flyer plenty of time to correct mistakes. It can fly better than you can. If you get into trouble, so long as you have some height, you can simply let go the sticks and the Kadet will return to level flight. It is a little complex to build but very straight forward with the excellent instructions and plans provided. I have now built about 10 Kadets Senior. I always seem to be passing them on the people who need a good solid trainer. My current on has a 62 sized OS four stroke engine in it. I had one with a electric motor and that was fine too. I just like glow four strokes for their reliability and ease of operation. I get at least 20 minutes of flight time out of an 8oz tank. She smaller Seniorita is just a small version of the Kadet Senior. It too is great. Mine has an ASP 30 four stroke. It is very light and not quite so good in wind. The Senior does not have ailerons. But if you set the radio up with the rudder servo on the elevator stick, she will fly just like any four channel model. You can add ailerons but frankly I prefer the standard version. With no ailerons, you do have to obey RULE1 - Always take off straight into the wind. ALWAYS!. My Kadet will take off in the width of our strip which is not very wide. It will also happily take off down wind if necessary. The Sig LT series also also well worth a look. They are easier to build and fly almost as well as the Senior and they do have ailerons. There is also a very good version of the LT 40 as an ARF. Of the LT series, I prefer the LT 25 which is a really sweet little plane. Easy to fly, flies slowly if necessary and is also quite aerobatic. Mine has an Enya 36 four stroke but a good 25 equivalent electric setup would be great too. Happy Flying. Mike"
