What is the FlyCamOne2

The FlyCamOne2 is a tiny and lightweight digital videocamera. It records video with sound, makes still pictures and has an integrated motion detector.

It saves the video footage on an SD Card (not included). This card can than be inserted into a computer to transfer the videos.
It's also possible to connect the cam directly to the computer and transfer the videofiles per included USB Cable.
With a small weight of only 37 gramm this camera is ideal for mounting it to model airplanes, -cars or -helicopters. But it can film almost wherever you like.
The FlyCamOne2 is also used in sports. It films from a mountain bike, skateboard, boat or even from your Kite.

There are several accessories available like a waterproof case, a remote control cable, headset or extra batterie.
The lens can swivel 90 degrees and the recording can be rotated by 180 degrees to allow filming from difficult positions.

What recording modes are possible with this camera?
There are about 10 functions at the moment.
Record color video with sound
The FlyCamOne2 records video in 640px by 480px resolution. It can hold up to 50 minutes video. There is a low-resolution mode available which extends the recording time to 100 minutes.
Still Photo
The Cam can create still pictures. The resolution for photos is 1.3 megapixel (1280x1024 px). One photo uses appr. 100kb memory.
Spy Video (with motion detector)
The integrated motion detector recognizes motions in a range of 5 meter and an angle of 90 degree. The recording will be active as long as thermal sources move in the range of the motion detector.
Record endless video
Record without interruption. The older half of the memory gets overwritten constantly.
Video dark environment
The Camera offers a recording modus that is optimized for dark environments.
Video low
In this modus the resolution is reduced to 320x240 px. The advantage is an extended possible recording time of up to 100 minutes.
Photo endless
The camera takes pictures constantly until the memory is full or manually stopped.the interval between the photos is 4 seconds.
Spy Video endless
Record without interruption when thermal sources move in the range of the camera. The older half of the memory gets overwritten constantly.
Spy Video low
Spy modus with lower resolution for a longer possible time of recording.
Spy Video dark environment
Spy modus with improved image quality in dark environments.
Audio only recording
Records audio only
Web Cam
Use as a Webcam. Requires installation of the webcam driver to your computer. The driver can be downloaded for free at our website here.

Update pure nature:
This is an additional software that can be installed on the FlyCamOne2.
It enables the Cam to make serial pictures. These time intervalls are possible:
Pic every 10 Sec
Pic every 1 minute
Pic every 5 minutes
Pic every 30 minutes
Pic every 60 minutes
( recording stops when the memory is full )
This can be used e.g. for observing a birds nest or a bee hive or the growth of plants.

Frequently asked questions
How does the Flycamone2 save the video?
The cam works with an SD Memorycard. You need to put in a SD Memory Card (max. 2 GB Cards). The MemoryCard is not included. We recommend to buy quality cards (like sandisc), as the FlyCamOne2 needs a minimum write speed.
How long can I record Video?
That is depending on the size of your memorycard. You can record approx. 40 Minutes on a 2GB Memory Card. A low quality mode can be chosen to extend recording time to appr. 100 minutes.
How can I trigger the camera remotely?
There are differrent ways:
Connect a cable to the included baseplate. By connection the pins 1 + 2 you can trigger the cam.
It is also possible to use the optional 'FCO2 remote control cable' to connect the FlyCamOne2 to your R/C control system and trigger it remotly.
How can I make the lens move remote controlled?
The camera comes with an lens-to-servo connector to connect a servo to the lens. You can than control the servo with a free channel from a remote control system (as used in modelsport).
How do I watch my Videos?
The camera comes with an USB Cable to connect the camera to your Computer or you pop the SD card directly into it. You can download the videos to your computer and watch them with e.g. Media Player. The Cam is Macintosh compatible.
Can I use an external Power supply?
Yes. The camera can be powered by 5 Volt 350mA, connected to the back contacts. Use correct allocation of pins!
Is the camera Apple Macintosh (r) compatible?
Yes
Does heavy vibration affect the video quality?
Heavy vibration, e.g. from a gas engine can cause flickering or swimming. If you are experiencing these effect on your video, try to use the cam on another position or with addition foam to protect the camera. The FlyCamOne comes with extra thick foam velcro Pads to avoid these problems.
Does heavy acceleration affect the video quality?
No, acceleration is usually not a problem. People are using the cam on model rockets. However heavy crashs can destroy the camera. No guarantee for any recording of crashs.
Are there problems in cold temperatures?
The operating time of the camera can be reduced. Keep it in a warm environment until recording in cold conditions. Use the FlyCamOne2 sock.
The external Battery Pack would be beneficial.
